Angie Hertel

Angie Hertel serves as the College Connect Coordinator and Alumni Relations creating and executing programming and systems to advise and support both high school and college Scholars in their journey towards meeting our goals of graduating from college in four years (or less) with $22,000 (or less) in student loans. She emphasizes the importance of a personal approach and a commitment to each individual Scholar as they strive to reach these goals and their full potential.

After graduating from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 1999, Angie began her career in the Office of Admissions at the University of St. Thomas (UST) as an Admissions Counselor. She worked closely with prospective high school students and families helping them to navigate the college admission and financial aid process. After two years, Angie became the Assistant Director of Admissions at UST and began working with staff and current students to provide an exceptional admissions experience for prospective students and families.

In 2003, Angie earned her Master of Arts in Education Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas and continued her work in admissions until 2011.

From 2011 to 2014, Angie served as the Director of Development and Marketing for Holy Trinity Catholic School in Winsted, MN. Both Angie and her husband, Jake, are Holy Trinity Alumni. Angie saw this career move as a good fit and an opportunity to serve a community she believes provided her an excellent academic and faith-filled foundation.

In 2014, Angie turned her attention to life at home with three increasingly active children and two dogs. In the fall of 2019, Angie added Flaherty Scholars, both in high school and in college, and the Flaherty Family Foundation Team to her family. Her passions include family, faith, service, and higher education.
